THE PASUPATI GOSALA
Care for animals is something that Indians have been aware of for centuries. It was during the time of Ashoka the great that the first veterinary hospital was set in India. In fact, Indians have been the very first people to show that care for animals is as necessary. The inception of the gosala dates back of the year 1980 when villagers donated few severely sick and fragile cows to the gosala. The cows were cared for and given medical treatment. Eventually, the same cows were not only fit and fine but also gave birth to healthy calves. Today, the ashram has the best breeds of cows, all looked after, cared by a tem of expert vets. Such has been the frame of the gosala that even experts from Germany and Australia have visited India specially to see and examine this famous gosala followed by their applauses.
Pasupati gosala believes in complete recycle. A portion of the cow dung is used to generate gas for the ashram while a portion is used to create natural manure. Certified by the Pusa institute. The urine is used as a pesticide. |
